Renaissance Faire

Today we went to the Renaissance Faire. They do it every year in Wentzville. The first time we went to it was six years ago with my sister-in-law, April, who took us there since Daniel is so big in medieval stuff. We had a really great time. The boys rode ponies, shot crossbows, and fell in love with the wooden swords, but we didn't buy them because they were too expensive. Daniel threw axes and Mateo got picked to participate in a play. He played the hero knight who saved the princess from the dragon and the evil knight. It was my favorite part to watch. Mateo even got water poured on his face from the angel to resurrect him so he can defeat the evil knight. He got embarrassed when it was time to kiss the princess and he refused to do it. Good boy, Mateo! Girls are yucky! The princess and the hero lived happily ever after.

We even met a girl from Barranquilla, my native city. What are the chances of that happening in Wentzville, but it did. Her husband recognized my sombrero volteo (my native hat that I was wearing) and immediately knew it was an authentic hat from Barranquilla. It was really nice for my mom to talk to her, since she doesn't get to talk in Spanish with many people here.
